Beach party

My summer commission for a mum wanting a farewell present for her friend who's leaving for the States. Their daughters, now six, have been part of a trio of friends since they were babies. They love the beach and a few disco tunes, so it wasn't too hard to pick the theme. I reckon there was a bit of blubbing at that farewell tea, but at least they've all got something to remember each other by.

Loopy love

A recent commission for a family that love a good theme park. For that extra personal touch, I even named the rollercoaster after them. The song You Spin me Right Round Baby, by Dead or Alive, is now on it's own loop inside my head!

Eavesdropping

One of those lovely conversations you sometimes hear when they think no-one's listening. Paradise Park is basically a garden centre with a dinosaur museum and soft play, and is apparently the reason for Earth's existence.

Baby blues

A classic playgroup nativity, where the vicar's plaintive pleas of "he's everyone's Jesus" were lost in the wrath of a toddler tantrum.

With this omnitrix I thee wed

This is when my very own Batboy was lured by a girlfriend at nursery, and her omnitrix, into marriage.

Bold and the brave

This is a bon voyage cartoon for a friend who made the bold move of going travelling with two kids under 4 and survived!

The original Bella

This is the original Bella n'mash story, courtesy of a very good poker friend and fellow mum.

Jurassic play

Keeping in the theme of "other people's kids", this is a recent commission from a friend who wanted a themed portrait of her two boys, who are mad about dinosaurs. She told me her boys favourite colours and dinosaurs. Even about their pet fish, who also feature!
This illustrates how you don't need to have a story to create a fun piece about your kids.
